Whats Included in an Air Rescue Tune-up?

Our energy savings visits include a comprehensive list of services designed to keep your home or business HVAC system running efficiently. While the steps required vary a bit based on the type of equipment you own, these are typical steps for your tune-up:

  • Indoor Equipment:

    • Check filters. Clean or replace air filters as needed.
    • Indoor Air Quality equipment: inspect and maintain and IAQ equipment and verify proper operation.
    • Condensate drains: check condensate drains to ensure they are clear. Verify proper operation of any condensate pumps.
    • Inspect indoor coil and clean if necessary
    • Inspect visible air duct system. Verify proper support and ensure that ductwork is properly sealed and insulated.
    • Inspect the blower motor and blower wheel. Clean and lubricate as required.
    • Inspect thermostats. Change any indoor thermostat batteries if necessary.
    • For gas furnaces:
      • Inspect the heat exchanger
      • Inspect the burners and clean if necessary
      • Check venting system
  • Outdoor Condenser:

    • Check outdoor unit coil and clean if necessary.
    • Inspect outdoor disconnect
    • Inspect outdoor controls including contactor, capacitor, and defrost control and reversing valve (for heat pump systems.)
  • Run Testing: Start up you system and operate for several minutes in both heating and cooling mode:

    • In cooling:
      • Test temperature drop across the indoor coil.
      • Measure amperage draw of indoor blower and outdoor unit
    • In heating:
      • Verify proper furnace ignition and start-up
      • Test temperature rise across furnace heat exchanger
      • Verify operation of any IAQ equipment like humidifiers or air purifying systems.
  • Clean-up and Reporting

    • Clean-up our work area completely and remove any used filters or parts
    • Provide and complete inspection report. Include details of any areas of concern and recommendation for system updates.
